About EOBC Education
Early onset breast cancer, defined as breast cancer occurring in women under the age of 45, accounts for approximately 10% of new breast cancer cases in the United States. Younger women tend to experience more aggressive disease, higher risk of recurrence and death, and more long-term survivorship issues than older women.
ACOG is pleased to offer the free online course series, Understanding Early Onset Breast Cancer.
- Developed through a partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), these courses are available to obstetrician-gynecologists and other women’s health care clinicians including family physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and genetic counselors.
- Each course is eligible for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM, 7 Category 1 College Cognate Credits, and 7 Nursing Contact Hours.

Courses
Part I: Risk Factors for Early Onset Breast Cancer
This course covers factors that increase the risk of early onset breast cancer, including genetics, racial/ethnic factors, breast density, family history, and prior health history.
GoPart II: Engaging With Patients at Risk for Early Onset Breast Cancer
This course focuses on tools for engaging patients at risk, including risk assessment, communication techniques, genetic counseling, health disparities, and considerations for cancer survivors.

Understanding EOBC Course Series
