Payment in Practice: Clinical Coding On Demand

Intermediate-Level Course

Understanding how to document procedures is core to any physician's practice, but it's not always intuitive. Designed for practicing obstetrician-gynecologists and their coding staff, Payment in Practice: Clinical Coding On Demand addresses common scenarios in coding for obstetric and gynecologic conditions and procedures.

Over 22 short videos and 2 assessments, participants can learn at their own pace and download additional resources by topic. Test your knowledge and improve documentation, care coordination, patient outcomes, and reimbursement.

Topics are derived from ACOG members’ most frequently asked payment questions and include:

  • Coding the Obstetric Global Package
  • Coding Beyond the Obstetric Global Codes
  • Alternative Payment Models in OB Care
  • Coding the Surgical Global Package
  • Coding with Surgical Modifiers
  • Coding for Ultrasounds

This course will be available until March 31, 2027 and does not include CME.

Professional coders can claim an AAPC CEU certificate.

This intermediate-level course is part of the Payment in Practice Course Series. For those new to clinical coding, we recommend starting with the Foundations in Coding course (beginner level) for a strong foundational understanding.
